Student Leadership and Community Outreach
Student Council
Leadership in Action at St. Joseph of Cupertino School
At St. Joseph of Cupertino School, leadership is something our students live, not just learn about.
Our Student Council gives middle school students the opportunity to serve their peers, strengthen our community, and grow as confident Catholic leaders.
Student Council members are elected by their classmates and take on real responsibilities that help shape student life on campus. Guided by faculty moderators, they work together to listen to student voices, plan activities, and model respect, kindness, and integrity for our entire Jaguar family.
What Student Council Does
Student Council plays an active role in building school spirit and supporting our mission through:
-
Organizing spirit days and themed dress days
-
Leading school assemblies and prayer services
-
Planning community-building activities and lunchtime events
-
Supporting Catholic Schools Week celebrations
-
Coordinating service projects and charitable drives
-
Welcoming new students and assisting at school events
-
Partnering with administration to share student ideas and feedback
Through these experiences, students learn communication, teamwork, responsibility, and servant leadership — skills that prepare them for high school and beyond.
Faith-Centered Leadership
At SJC, leadership begins with service.
Student Council members are called to lead like Christ: with humility, compassion, and a willingness to put others first.
They help foster a campus culture where every student feels known, included, and valued — a hallmark of the St. Joseph of Cupertino community.
Growing Confident Leaders
Participation in Student Council helps students develop:
-
Public speaking skills
-
Event planning and organization
-
Collaboration and problem-solving
-
Accountability and initiative
-
Confidence to lead with character
Our Student Council members don’t just represent the student body — they help shape the heart of our school.
