SJC School Programs

In addition to daily instruction in mathematics, reading, language, arts, and social studies, students also participate in:

RELIGION	Religion is an integral part of the curriculum and we provide the services of a full-time religious education coordinator. In addition to daily instruction, students participate in daily prayer services, monthly liturgies, sacramental preparation, and community outreach programs, all of which prepare our children to be the Church of the future.
SCIENCE	A laboratory/classroom is provided for grades K-8. Classes are conducted by a science teacher.
COMPUTER EDUCATION	Computer classes are taught by specialized instructors in our computer lab and classrooms; systems are networked and have access to the internet. Computer skills are also integrated into the curriculum by classroom teachers. All students in grades K-8 participate in computer instruction.
MUSIC AND ART	Weekly music and art classes are conducted by qualified teachers for grades K-8. Students participate in community art projects and in children's music ministry group.
EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMS	A number of before- and after-school programs are offered: band, creative dance, choir, foreign language, technology, scouts, sports.
LIBRARY	Well-staffed and equipped, our library offers computer and video resources in addition to numerous titles and extensive reference materials.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION	P.E. classes are held for students in grades K-8 to instruct children in large motor skills as well as the fundamentals of group games and sports.
LEARNING ASSISTANCE	A state certified and licenced teacher is on staff to test and assist students with learning disabilities and special needs.
COUNSELING	The services of a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Counselor are available on site to any interested school family.
SPORTS	To foster the values of sportmanship and teamwork, a complete after-school sports program is available to both boys and girls in grades 4-8.
EXTENDED DAY CARE	Day Care facilities are available to all school families on days the school is in session. Our Day Care is open from 7:00 to 8:15 a.m. before school, and until 6:00 p.m. after school. It is also open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the summer.
FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAM	To facilitate extracurricular and fundraising activities, families participate in this parent volunteer program, providing over fifty activities from which to choose.
