Events

Here is a short list of some of the events that happen during the school year.

Ice Cream Social

Every fall before school starts the Ice Cream Social allows new families to meet current SJC families over a scoop of ice cream. New families can tour the school. Since most new families have students in Kindergarten and Preschool, both classrooms are open for visits during this time.

Cupertino Carnival

The Cupertino Carnival is a three-day festival featuring live music, entertainment, real amusement rides, jump houses/inflatables, games for kids of all ages, arts and crafts, a wide variety of food and more.

Blessing of the Animals

Every October, the 5th Grade leads the school with a Prayer Service where we bless our family pets. Add: This year, our new Bishop will join us for the Blessing of the Animals on October 12. Bishop Thomas Daly will lead our prayer service in honor of God's creation during this month of St. Francis of Assisi. Families are invited to bring their family pets to our grassy field at 8:30 a.m. to join in this special celebration.

Christmas Musical

Each Christmas Grades 4-6 are the main actors and actresses in our Christmas musical. Grades K-3 and Grades 7-8 sing songs to support Grades 4-6. Catholic Schools Week This week celebrates Catholic Schools in our country and includes days to recognize teachers, students, and parents. We open our doors during this week for our annual Open House.

Auction

Each spring the Parish Hall is transformed to look like another country (or another galaxy or era!) complete with silent and live auction items. The proceeds from the auction support many different programs such as: the advanced curriculum offering for students in math, Spanish, language arts, and science; the comprehensive reading and math intervention programs; and our fully equipped computer lab, mobile computer lab, and science lab.

Festival of Tables

This special night for the women of our community is held near Mother's Day. Table hostesses decorate tables with a theme.

Family Barbeque

Each year near the end of the school year, the Sports Booster Club holds a bar-b-que and skating party for the school to raise money for our sports program.

Talent Show

Each spring students in grades 1, 3, 5, 7, & 8 get a chance to show off their talents at our annual talent show.
