September 21 was World Alzheimer’s Day. We invited our students to get comfortable while joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. With a small donation, children were entitled to wear free dress on Wednesday, September 21. We encouraged the children and their parents to wear purple to show solidarity with those who are suffering with this disease. We suggested that families donate $5.00 for this privilege; however, donations of any amount were accepted and greatly appreciated. We are proud to report that the students looked great in their purple and we raised over $1,400 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mrs. Jean Wilson, our preschool director, will be walking in the San Jose Walk to End Alzheimer’s again this year in honor of Marcia Cali, longtime parishioner, SJC parent and staff member who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at 55 years old and is struggling with the disease. All proceeds go directly to the San Jose Walk to End Alzheimer’s. 100% of your donation helps to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
