Feedback from our Families 2005-2006 School Year

Our sons in 7th grade and 4th grade began at SJC last year.  We have been extremely pleased with our experiences at SJC.  The community feel and approach provide the perfect environment for our kids to excel.  The academic programs are top notch, but more important is the focus on developing the whole person.  We only wish we would have started at SJC sooner.
The Goshia Family (Grs. 4 & 7)

At St. Joseph of Cupertino character, compassion and values are stressed daily through the “SPARCCLS” program.  It's not just a motto, but an educational foundation.  That separates St. Joseph of Cupertino from the rest!
The Connelly Family (Grs. 2 & 5)

What makes St. Joseph of Cupertino different from other schools?  I think it begins with the values our children are taught here.  They learn these values through the “hands-on” method in our “reach out” and “buddy” program.  In short, our children are taught to care at SJC.  In our sixteenth year as a family at St. Joseph's, and about to graduate our third child, my husband and I are ever thankful that we chose St. Joseph of Cupertino as our parish and school.

Our eldest daughter will graduate from San Diego State University in May and hopes to pursue her master's degree while working in her first job.  Our second child is pursuing a computer science degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  We are so proud of them and ever grateful to St. Joseph's for giving them such a firm academic and moral foundation.  They were always encouraged to try and make good choices and given the chance to make amends and start over if they sometimes chose poorly.  All my children are safe in the knowledge that they are loved by God and their SJC family.
The Smith Family (Grs. 6, 8, Class of 1998, and Class of 2001 Graduates)

We choose to send our son to St. Joseph's because not only is he becoming academically prepared, but also our Catholic values are embedded in everything they do at school.  He is challenged to not only learn, but also to consider others in his community and beyond. He is thriving at St. Joseph's.  He loves school.  We all feel truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.
The Wilson Family (Gr. 1)

Character, compassion, values can be summed up with what Hillary Clinton wrote about it taking a whole village to teach a child.  St. Joseph's gives you the complete environment to raise and teach your child.  St. Joseph's has impressed me with how involved everyone is in my son's education. They help to provide good examples everywhere.  They set up a system of checks and balances for your child.  The school is the kind of community we all want our child to be part of.  St. Joseph's teaches us all “character, compassion, values”.
The Triner Family (Gr. K)

Our children come to us with the God-given gift of an open, beautiful soul.  From the time they are babies until we send them off to school, it is we, as parents, that influence their character, and teach them the values we believe are important.  Unfortunately, all too often in today's society, once we release them into the “real world”, these things are not reinforced, and their importance is minimized, or even forgotten.  At St. Joseph of Cupertino School, this unfortunate scenario does not happen.  Each child is seen as an individual, and as such, he or she is cherished.  Their character is shaped here, not only by loving parents, but by a dedicated and loving team of teachers and staff.  Every day, many values, of which compassion is only one, are not only taught, but lived and put into practice.  Our children don't just learn about these values, they experience them, thereby growing not only academically, but emotionally, spiritually, and socially.  I truly love sending my daughter to St. Joseph of Cupertino School – she continues to have the open, beautiful soul that God gave her – and I am thankful to this school community for helping her to develop into the amazing young lady she is becoming.  I truly believe that any child attending this school would benefit in ways both measurable and immeasurable – and invaluable.
The Ognoskie Family (Gr. 7)

St. Joseph's has an outstanding education program. Not only does my daughter receive a great education she does it in a family style environment. Parent involvement here is essential to raising well rounded, and healthy children. I love that I know all the faces on campus by name. And I feel secure knowing my daughter is in a safe, loving environment everyday.
The Sanchez Family (Gr. 2)

There are many private schools in the Bay Area producing great students that have mastered the art of testing for exams.  Indeed, these students will benefit by scoring high on exams later in life, but will they have the foundation that a Catholic education provides to the whole child?  Academic excellence must have an equal importance to the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical development of each unique child.  St. Joseph of Cupertino bases their education upon the teachings of Jesus - teachings which foster respect, responsibility, justice, gratitude, and peacefulness.  We are very fortunate to have our son at SJC.  The parish, principal, teachers, and parents share a common bond, and we all feel a duty to support every child at our school as our own.
The Sloan Family (Gr. K)

From the foremost words we gathered about SJC to our first impression upon enrollment of our children, our experiences through the years, and up to the present times, the words that describe SJC have never changed.  A balance of education and values are difficult to achieve without the quality of teachers and staff.  But we all obtained these literally from SJC.  Every penny we spent in this school has been the best investment we ever made.  We are assured that there is no depreciation of our investment and we are confident that it is for a lifetime.  We are blessed to be a part of this school.
The Pancipanci Family (Gr. 2 and Class of 2005 Graduate)

This is our first year at SJC and we love it here.  It has a good academic program and everyone works well together.  We found the staff really cooperative and caring.   Our son loves to go to school!
The Kannathumadam Family (Gr. K)

Every year when it's time to re-register for the next school year, we would ask our children if they want to continue attending SJC.  Their answers have always been an enthusiastic "Yes!"  This is one of the best feedback we have of the positive influence SJC brings to our family.
The Read Family  (Gr. 2 & 3)

Let's see, you are confused, nervous, anxious, and don't know how to decide, right?  We know our situation, and it is a very difficult decision.  Don't worry, there is no perfect school, so just decide on what you value in life.  Just like when you are going on your first date or blind date, how would you know the character of the person you are going to see?  If you decide to “date” St. Joe's (what a cool name) we can tell you its character.  St. Joe's has lots of compassion and values.

Ok, ok, ok, we understand, this is not about a date.  But, don't you wonder what kind of character that your kids are going to have later in their lives?  What kind of environment that your kids are going to be exposed to?  Don't you want your kids to have a compassionate respectful, disciplined, creative, and at the same time academically challenged atmosphere?  We fell in love with St. Joe's, and so did our sons.
The Arifin Family (Grs. 3 & 4)

As the parents of two wonderful daughters, it is our responsibility to ensure that they get a well-rounded education that will prepare them for a future as productive, loving and caring individuals. St. Joseph's offers a solid academic foundation s well as religious and moral teachers. We look forward to a prosperous and productive year at St. Joseph of Cupertino School.
The Willis (Sanchez) Family (Grs. 3 & 6)

I give thanks to God for my father, Mr. Guillermo Pena who was working at St. Joseph of Cupertino School for several years. He did a great job and for his very good work, Ms. Mary Lyons and Monsignor Joseph Milani gave the opportunities for my two sons (SJC Class of 1997 and SJC Class of 2002), and my two girls both in Grade 4. I am very happy because it is a very great education (SPARCCLS). This school opens our doors to continued high school and college.
The Gomez Family (Grs. 4 & 4)

When we send our daughter to SJC every morning, we feel that she is entering into “the Garden of the Lord” where she can learn love, gratitude, reconciliation, forgiveness, joy and peace. Since all those are precious gifts from the God, she will be able to understand and feel the presence of God better while at SJC.
The Chun Family (Gr. 4)

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our children growing beautifully every day. Inside the school of SJC, our children expand their knowledge through academic challenge. Our children build confidence and assertiveness through speeches and volunteering in school events. Our children develop compassion through helping out each other and participating reach out projects. Inside SJC, our children learn tremendously through the great teachers and staff, and the principal. Through all this, our kids acquire valuable skills to meets the future needs in their lives. We are so thankful that we send our children to SJC.
The Leung Family (Grs. 2 & 6)

We love SJC because we feel a sense of belonging to a family and friends. The kids grow with each other and the parents become friends that look after your children and show kindness and concern for you as well, with a staff that shares the same attitude, unity and values you. It feels as though someone is always looking out for you literally and spiritually.
The Hawley Family (Gr. 1)
