Many thanks to Chairperson Mrs. Nicole Triner for organizing International Night on Friday, February 29. It was a wonderful evening. The potluck dinner was filled with many international treats, and the Heritage Tables were superbly presented (by parents and by several of our students).

The entertainment was excellent, ranging from our younger students singing Spanish songs under the leadership of Mrs. Gabriela Lopez to performances with Japanese stringed instruments and another using Korean drums (drums played by two of our sixth graders) to a piano piece played by a student from SJSU. Mr. Kenji Nakai’s singing group presented a hugely entertaining version of “Sukiyaki,” a song that topped international charts in the 1960s. Then the entertainment portion of the evening was brought to a climactic close with a fantastic Lion Dance, which excited and thrilled the children (and adults!). We all had a great time.
