Our CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK CELEBRATIONS were wonderful representations of the welcoming, positive community we have here at SJC. We had a huge crowd at Open House on Tuesday, January 29. The parent tour guides were fantastic. Many, many thanks to all of them.
We hope you enjoyed the messages and gifts your children brought home on Parent Appreciation Day. Most importantly, we dedicated the day in prayer to you, thanking God for all you do for SJC and for your children.
Teacher Appreciation Day was a memorable day. The Student Council prepared and led the beautiful Prayer Service. Mrs. Janine Ventura chaired the luncheon that day, and we all had a great time. We thank Janine and all of her helpers, as well as all the classroom and yard duty parent helpers.
Student Appreciation Day was observed on Friday, February, 1. The teachers brought recess treats for their students and gave them mementoes of this year's Catholic Schools Week theme of “Catholic Schools Light the Way” - mini flashlight keychains that they can hang on their backpacks. The 8th Graders served as teachers during this special day and did a superb job. Then we topped off the day (and week) with a fun school-wide assembly of Japanese Taiko. This was an interactive assembly that also taught us lots about music and respect. We thank Ms. Roemer and Mrs. Hara for arranging this assembly.
