St. Joseph of Cupertino school art students were awarded 1st and 2nd place in the 2007 Memorial Art Contest sponsored by the Cupertino Federated Women’s Club. The colored pencil drawing of “Apple Line Up” by a seventh grader, and the chalk pastel drawing of “Red Fox” by a third grader went on to the district level competition and won 1st place in the Bay Area district. Their art work pictured above will go on to the California state level competition in late May. Two other students received honorable mention at the 2007 Memorial Art contest and one student received honorable mention at the district level in the Photography Contest. The art students in grades K through 8 receive instruction from Mrs. Rosemary Findlay in weekly art classes of realistic drawing and painting of portrait, still life and landscape subjects. Seventh and eighth grade students at St. Joseph of Cupertino school learn to paint acrylic paintings. We are proud to see the talent of our young artists recognized |
