WOW!!! The school's 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION was an absolutely amazing experience. RSVPs kept rolling in until we had over 500 people planning to attend the luncheon, with even more attending the Mass. Everything turned out perfectly, thanks to the inspirational dedication of so many and the positive community spirit here at SJC. The Mass was a true celebration of all that is good about St. Joseph of Cupertino. We honored our history, celebrated our children, and looked forward to our future. There are so many people to thank, but we extend a special thank you to Mrs. Rose Smith and Mrs. Ana Santos for preparing our children for the liturgy. The student choir, liturgical dancers, and prayer leaders were fantastic. And Msgr. Milani!s homily was a heartfelt tribute to Catholic education and to SJC School. The Sisters of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, who originally staffed the school, were so complimentary, so impressed with our children, and so pleased to see that we are carrying on the true mission of Catholic schools. The luncheon was a family-oriented event, which, of course, is a hallmark of our community. We always like having our kids with us to celebrate special events. The Hall looked beautiful, the food was perfect, and everything was so organized and pleasant. Again, there are so many people to thank, but we especially offer our gratitude to Mrs. Erin Edem and Bob and Julia Collins. They were stupendous. The Open House gave our alums and their families a chance to walk down "Memory Lane" with friends and relatives. We thank our teachers and custodians for working so hard to make everything look beautiful. There was such a nice feeling to the day. People really enjoyed coming back and celebrating this milestone with us. And I must share with you that those who joined us were so impressed by our children who participated in every aspect of the event. They led so many parts of the Liturgy, served at the luncheon, baked desserts, and acted as tour guides. They represented your families and our school so beautifully. They are truly the best testament that St. Joseph of Cupertino School and families are doing a great job. |
