Thanksgiving Food Collection

During November, we as a school community, will reach out and assist the larger St. Joseph's Parish Community by collecting food items for the Parish Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Drive begins now but items do not need to be sent to the classrooms until the week of November 14 (Grade 6 can bring them in the week before since they will be at Science Camp during the week of November 14). All items are due by Friday, November 18. Baskets will be assembled by our Parish Outreach Committee during the weekend of November 19/20, and will be distributed on Monday, November 21.

Each class is asked to bring foods in the following categories to ensure that we have a good combination of items for the baskets:

K stuffing/cranberry sauce
1 cranberry sauce/soups
2 stuffing/pumpkin pie filling
3 stuffing/cranberry sauce
4 pumpkin pie filling/canned yams
5 canned fruits/cranberry sauce
6 canned fruits/cranberry sauce
7 pumpkin pie filling/canned yams
8 stuffing/soups

Final collection of these items is on Friday, November 18. Also, in order to provide the students with an opportunity to donate to this project, we ask that each child donate at least $1.00 from their own money to help purchase turkeys and other perishable items.

Thank you for working with us in passing on the value of generosity. Our world would be a much better place if all children learned these lessons from an early age.
