Fashion Week came early this year to Cupertino as our students participated in Student Council's First Spirit Rally, Fashion Fiasco.

Students were encouraged to dress in their most fashionably disastrous attire and let their inner models shine. Students tried their best as they matched stripes with plaid, clashing colors, and backwards clothes.

The Student Council lead the sprit rally, but the eighth grade class showed up fashionably late. The Cheerleaders, with haute couture mismatching socks, performed a number to the song "Lose Control". Grades K - 3 played a Fashion Relay game. The cheerleaders performed one of their cheers. Then, Grades 4 - 8 had a representative from their class "strut their stuff" for the Fashion Runway game. Grade 3 won the Fashion Relay game, and Grade 4 won the Fashion Runway game. Next, the cheerleaders aided the classes as they performed their class cheers. All the grades did an excellent job. It was a tough decision, but Grade 4 won the class cheer contest and the spirit stick filled with jolly ranchers. The Cheerleaders surprised the teachers by asking them to also walk down the red carpet modeling their Fashion Fiasco designs!

We would like to thank the Student Council moderators, Mrs. Schwoob and Mr. Lee; the Student Council; the cheerleading moderator, Mrs. Dawn McLeod; the Cheerleading Coaches Nicole Silva and Brooke Serio; the Cheerleaders; the teachers; and the student body for preparing and adding to the spirit of the day.

The likes of our fashion have yet to be seen in New York or Paris, but watch out, I'm sure that they have heard the buzz from SJC.
