SJC
Shows Support for Cancer Victims with Denim Day
On October 21, SJC held a Denim Day
of their own. We could not celebrate the actual denim day because
school was not in session on October 7. The school
met as a community in the morning, and we prayed for the victims
and survivors of cancer. Students were encouraged to wear denim
to show our support of and prayers for those who are dealing with
the effects of cancer. Students were also encouraged to wear our
school spirit t-shirts to show that we are supporting those with
cancer as our school community. Some eighth grade boys even went
so far as to ask if they could wear pink shirts as a sign of support.
Overall $500 was raised for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research
Fund. We would like to thank all those who wore denim. We would
also like to thank those who graciously made a donation to the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund.

8th Grade really got in the spirit of the day, Two eighth boys
really sported pink shirts along with their denim jeans in honor
of those for whom we prayed.
